ie no longer opening

When I open IE, it says that it occurred and error and
had to shut down, do I want to send a reprt. When I ask
for details it shows the following
AppName ieexplore.ext
modname swfview.dll
modver 3.2.2.40
offset 0006e596
I could not find this problem listed, but I am a novice.
Any help would be appreciated.
