IE needs http:// prefix for browsing

If I type in an URL like "www.microsoft.com", IE doesn't find it, only if I
manually put the "http://" prefix in front of the URL the Page is being
loaded correctly.

I already tried resetting the Zones to default level, clearing the Cache and
Cookies - without any luck. The hosts file is clean. AntiVirus did not show
any Viruses or Malware.

Any idea?

Thanks,
