IE is being hijacked.

I receive pop up ads and also am having trouble with redirects when I am
trying to reach what I know are valid URL's. I've scanned with the most
recent version of Adaware, but can't seem to get rid of these items. The main
culprits are shopnav and also drsn Search.

I've checked the add/remove program list and the only item that seems "odd"
is a program called Search Basket. I don't know where it came from and can't
locate where any of the files are. Does anyone know anything regarding any of
these items and how to remove them.
Thanks

you are exactly right. this is a hijacker. Your solution depends on how
computer saavy you are. What the hijacker most likely did is go into your
registry and add some things that shouldnt be.

First, wait until it redirects you. When it does this, copy the URL then hit
control-alt-delete and look at the processes. Search for each one online.
There will be one that you will find is a bad program. Find that program on
your computer and change its name (this has the effect of deleting it but if
anything goes wrong, you can undo it).

Use "regedit" (you can search your HD for it) to fix the registry. Search
for the URL in the registry values. Most likely you can delete anything with
that value, but for safety, just change the name of the register. This way
you can change it back if something does not work.

While many love adaware and spybot, I find them ineffective. Get a complete
firewall.
