when I turn off my computer and reboot the IE hopepage keeps being reset to an unfavorable page that I never requested. I also have a couple of extra selections in my favorites that I don't want. I keep deleating them but the reappear each time I turn off the computer and reboot along with setting the home page to that undesirable one. Is there any way I can delete whatever has been placed on my computer to stop this from happening

Thank you for your hel

Marc

The same thing happened to me yesterday... (Mar 28) My IE was hijacked (no virus present!) I managed to get rid of all the offending software that downloaded itself behind the scenes (as far as I knoew), but IE is acting totally wierd yet

I cannot close out of IE without Alt-Ctrl-Del, and none of my shortcut keys work. My delete key does not work, either! I have uninstalled V6 going back to the previous 5.5, reinstalled V5.5 (from a QuickTax CD), updated back to IE6 -- same problem with every turn! Even tried the "fix" (going through CTRL Panel -- and "fixing" IE!) Still nothing works right... Netscape works fine (all the shortcuts, delete key, close command, etc. work!) as does MS Word, etc. Only IE does not work properly. Help

(I accidently got into a different question, and it would not let me close out... so this same problem is posted in a wrong spot, as well! Sorry! This whole IE problem is driving me crazy!!!

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

Hi - sounds like you have some sort of spyware attached to your IE. It probably affected certain .dll files as well making it tough to merely go in and delete. You might have to consider buying something like Aluria (spyware eliminator). It will scan your drives memory and registry and offer cleaning options. It will also have a home page hijacker cleaner (and prevention) to avoid future problems.
