When downloading a page sometimes ie hangs and the only way I can reload the
page is to reboot. What is causing this?

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each need to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded.

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.

I followed your instructions, including running the latest version of Ad
Aware. I still get the problem occasionally when I log onto secure sites.
Once it has started, the only cure seems to be to reboot.
