IE hangs when trying to access hotmail

Hello --

I can open up IE 6, but when I try and open my hotmail
account it now hangs (not repsonding). Sometimes the
regular exeplorer says it's using 100% of the CPU. There
were two versions of explorer.exe and I deleted one, so
now the CPU usage is back to normal.

I have run virus checkers, adaware etc and have turned up
nothing malicious. I have tried to install IE 6 again, but
it hangs when it looks for a download site. Is there a
file that's corrupt? Any hints? Thanks as always.

The same thing was happening to one of my xp machines, applying
RestoreSearh2.reg by right clicking and merge - forget where i downloaded it
from but it was from a reference here - hope this points you in the right
direction.
