If I set the Internet Options->Privacy->Settings->Advanced
Override automatic cookie handling/Prompt, Prompt,
set Always allow session cookies.
And then start to rapidly refresh the browser .Each time the cookie
arrives we will be prompted for permission. But after about 5 refreshes
the IE browser starts to hang for a long time. The cookie is a time based
cookie. . However if I refresh it every 3 seconds I don't see the problem.
Is this some form a security that MS is imposing to prevent rapid writes to
the Disk . Looks like I see the problem only in XP with IE 6.0 . I don't see
this problem with firefox on XP . I have SP2 installed
