IE goes to web sites, different from what I put in the URL

This annoing thing is bothering me to no end:
I type in one URL, IE goes to some other place;
I click a link pointing to one web site, IE goes to
another...etc.
It used to help to clear cache and reboot, but not anymore.

Does anybody know what to do with it ?
