IE freezes when opening pop ups

Hi guys,

My IE freezes when opening pop ups, usually after the 3rd pop up (never the
first time). I have to use control/alt/Del to get out. Then when I re-open
the IE, the same happens.
It's a Compaq presario, about 1.5ys old with Windows XP.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

An addition...It also freezes when closing it. This is a pain!

If you have XP, do you have the Popup blocker turned on?

Check your system for spyware/adware that my be causing the popups as well,
Be aware, your Anti-Virus won't detect all types of warez, Trojans, worms,
etc. So even if you run it, and nothing shows up, it does not mean your
system is clean. It takes a series of programs to fully clean your machine.
Follow the steps here:

I followed "some" of the suggestions in there, and did find a bug in the
registry with Ewido SW. Maybe this will take care of it...I'll post another
note if it doesn't.
