IE Expl,orer has been compromised, yet no patch from Microsoft.

Am receiving pop-ups and web pages. Run Norton and Pest Patrol. Has not
stopped or found the attacker. I have DSL, so it is hard to stop attack
without pulling the plug
any assistance would be appreciated.
