IE error on close

MS IE generates the following error message when I shut it down. Otherwise,
it seems okay. I do suspect a problem with Adobe Acrobat Reader as that
loads but gives an initialization error. Don't know if they are connected.

The error message:

iexplore.exe - Application Error

"The instruction at "0x7c9105f8" referenced memory at "0x01fc0010". The
memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program."

Would appreciate any help I can get on this. I've done the repair thing
with the Windows CD. No effect.

Thanks!

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

I am having a similar problem. I have updated my PC to XP SP2. After the SP
install MS IE generates the fatal error message when I shut it down. I have
run several spy-ware removal tools ( Adaware,Spy Sweeper, etc...). I am at
lose for what is causing the problem. Please advise.

Thank You

Hi,
Have you run CWShredder? Was Ad-aware updated just before use? Did you run
Spybot?
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Legitimate programs can also interfere with IE. Disable programs running in
the background which may be interfering with IE. Look at programs such as
ad-blockers, security/privacy programs, toolbars or other add-ons for IE,
etc. Antivirus programs can conflict with IE. Reinstalling the AV program
should help. Many programs need an update to work properly with XP SP2.
Check the website of the program.

This article should help with troubleshooting:

Internet Explorer: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=276393

Hope this helps,
Don
