IE error message preventing use.

I was online earlier with about 3/4 windows open when the
following message appeared:

Explorer has caused an error in VX2.DLL. Explorer will now
close.

I can't get IE to open and it seems to be affecting
Windows Explorer as well. I have a broadband connection
but I have had to resort to navigating online via my
RealOne player.

A quick response would be appreciated.
