Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone was knoledgeable about this problem or not. Its
happened to me for the longest time and its really getting on my nerves.
Basically whats happining is I click on a file and it pops up the download
dialog in internet explorer to save the file and starts downloading... it
will go for a while 3 or 4 min or something like that and get around 30% -
60% of the file done then i get the BEEP! download complete... but when i
click on the file it says this file is currupt or messed up which it is
because internet explorer cut off the download before it finished.
Now i know people will probably tell me to get some download accelerator or
something to use, and yes i have already done this and I have many, but the
problem is, a lot of the files people send me come through e-mail, and the
e-mails have such a nice little trick to hide the files in the code to where
IE is the only program that will find the download, if i insert the link into
my download manager it just downloads some stupid page that the link is
directed to and not the actual file.
I would really like to figure out what is causeing this, its not a virus or
spyware cause I have 3 different virus scanners and many spyware removal
programs such as ad-aware and spyware doctor, and webroot spyware sweeper.
This problem has happened to me for as long as I can remember useing IE,
somedays itll download the file ok, other days it just tweaks out and kills
them during the download.
It usually happends on big files, little files download so quick it dosent
have time to kill it before it finishes, but if the file takes around 4 to 5
min to download there is a good chance IE will kill it.
Is there anything I can do to fix this? is there a reason or something that
causes this? is there a patch or something for IE? or a sceret way or little
program to steal the download from IE?
Thanks,
Brandon
