IE "clear history" gives Blue Screen of Death

G

Guest

I'm using IE version 6.0.2900. When I try and clear history through the
"tools"/ "options" method, I get the blue screen of death. When my computer
reboots, I receive no indication as to why it shut down, or offering to
report this problem to MS. Any thoughts on why this is occurring?

Try closing all instances of Internet Explorer and then Clear History.

To open Internet Properties...
Start | Run | Type: inetcpl.cpl | Click OK
Or right click the Internet Explorer icon on your Desktop
Or Start | Settings | Control Panel | Internet Options

Then click on the Clear History button on the General tab.

Hope this helps. Let us know.

Hi Wes,

The program clears the cache automatically when you run the installer file.
You have to run the Installer file every time when you have corrupted IE
cache files.

Hi William,

That sure sounds rinky dink. I wouldn't recommend this to pcbutts. ;-)

I use Disk Cleaner to clean everything anyway. I just tried cleariecache to
see if it was worth recommending.

I got tired of screwing around. I uninstalled it. At least the uninstaller
removed everything.

I ran defrag and now I am going to go finish reading my book. :)

Thank you for your support.
