IE 6 on my XP system is acting up lately. It doesn't
download all images on some sites. I've check the
Privacy section, and I don't show that I'm blocking
anything. Downloading images is enabled in Internet-Tools
section. Any ideas?

Yes, I took the suggestion below and checked the MS
resources. None of their suggestions made a difference.
Most pages load, but others (like nissandriven.com) won't
download the car images (and effects). Afterwards, when I
try Outlook Express, it won't download mail. After
re-booting (or restoring to a few days ago), OE works fine.
Is there something in IE (I have IE6 with SP1) that affects
OE's operation, as well? This is a new problem. My XP Pro
system has worked flawlessly for two years.

Is there a way to reinstall just IE? If so, do I then need
to reinstall SP1?

Thanks!
Scott

Eliminate the possibility of spyware being the culprit, as is usually the
case when things start happening "suddenly":

Dealing with Hijackware

These days most of us are recommending HijackThis to identify and assist in
the removal of these bad guys. Post your files to the forum mentioned on
the first URL above.

If you cannot access the page to download HijackThis, use this link:

If you find you need CoolWebSearch Shredder, use this link:
http://216.180.252.218/~spywareinfo.com/downloads/tools/cwshredder.zip
(Get a fresh copy of CWS Shredder before each use. It's updated
frequently.)

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on do both once-a-day.

Delete your Temporary Internet Files, too.

Re: your OE problem, "...it won't download mail" isn't specific enough. See
this page http://www.dts-l.org/goodpost.htm and then post this problem to
this OE6-specific newsgroup:

(Copy/paste the above URL into your browser, click Go, and the newsgroup
will open in your default newsreader)
