IE BHO's

What happened to the IE BHO's?
Alot of browser hijackers use a bho to hijack the homepage, this was one of
the better features in MS Antispyware and now it is missing. It would be nice
to see this in Windows Defender

Yeah i cannot beleave they got rid of the best feature of the tool? it just
does not seem like a smart choice to do this because there are vendors that
do have that option i think that they should really reconsider the removal of
the bho's removal if they want people to use this product!

HUGE disappointment that this feature was removed. I used it frequently to
find programs which i never realized were installed, plus i think it works
better than the BHO window in IE for XP SP2.

I think its still in there but it has kind of evolved and alerts the user
when such types of toolbars are trying to install. Check out this
screenshot.

So I guess the idea in Windows Defender is that any add on for IE has to be
reviewed first before its installed. Its up to the user to make an educated
decision whether to install or not.
