Where do you set the IE6 as your default browser so that
when you go to the internet, IE6 opens up automatically?
I connect via net Zero and somehow I have lost that
connection and have to click on the blue e in my bottom
bar in order for it to open a browser page.

Open Internet Options from Control Panel or from the Tools menu found in an
Internet Explorer (IE) window.

On the page titled Programs, check the box next to "Internet Explorer
should check to see whether it is the default browser." Click OK.

Close any open IE windows so that the change in settings can take effect.

Launch IE. When the prompt appears asking if IE should be your default
program, answer yes.

Alternatively, use Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Click the icon for
"Set Program Access and Defaults" and use the screen that appears to
designate IE as your default browser.

In my add remove the section of custom is highlighted
and Use my current is selected. I changed to use
Internet explorer and said OK and tried the start run
test as noted above of http://www.microsoft.com and still
get the message application not found. If I open Net
zero I get on the web but the IE page does not
automatically open. I have to click on the E in the
bottom tray to open IE window and it does open one. the
IE window used to open automatically. In the program
box, the box is checked to use IE but when clicking on
the e in the tray I never get a second box to ask me if
IE should be my default.

I don't have NetZero software installed so can only give general
directions. Does it use a separate browser or is it Internet Explorer using
NetZero as a home page? If there is separate software (separate from IE),
are there settings in the NetZero program's menus that need to be adjusted
as well?

NOTE: If you are starting NetZero with an icon found in Network
Connections, the expected behavior is an open internet connection with no
browser window. The browser won't appear until you launch it.

IF Netzero use IE as its browser, go back to internet options. On the
Connection page, try selecting NetZero as the default connection to see if
that gives you the results you want. Remember to click OK. Then close any
open IE windows to let changes take effect. Then launch IE. If not already
connected, it should establish the connection via NetZero and once
connected display your default home page (set that up using Internet
Options> General> Home Page).

on your home page, go to:
Tools, Internet options.
On the first page, it shows Home Page (you can change which page to use for
your home page.
It says - Use Current, Use Default, Use Blank.

The current home page should be shown.
Select - Use Current.
