I am having a problem with all internet activity on a XP Home PC.

The Network card works and I am getting an IP. I can connect to other
pc's on my network over UNC, and I can also ping anything I want with
a return. The problem is when I try and open IE or Netscape to get to
the web. I get "Page cannot be displayed" errors. I also can't ftp
anywhere.

I tried alot of things to this point, but now I am out of Ideas. I
would rather not rebuild the pc, so any ideas would be great.

I have tried to reinstall IE, and winsock.

Any help would be great!

Thanks,
Eric

Can you ping websites? Goto Start--->Run---> type cmd.
ping www.google.com
If you can ping that, it is something with your IE. Try
going to the settings under IE and reset to defaults.
Also, what is your IP. It should either be a 192.168 or
10.0. If it is not either like say a 168.... then it is
something with your router or DSL/Cable modem.
