IE and FF not working

B

Baba O'Reilly

IE and FF are now no longer able to access the internet. Seamonkey,
however, still works. I am running Vista Home Premium on an HP Pavillion
Entertainment PC with 2GB RAM AMD Athlon 64 X2 Duo-Core Processor TK-53
1.70GHz.

Just before this happened, I allowed 13 updates to install and also did a
checkdisk to fix problems on my C drive.

KB947864
KB948590
KB948881
KB905866

KB950127

Without having to look up the details of each of windows security updates,
is anyone familiar enough with them to tell me if one of them could be
causing my problem, or should I just uninstall them one at a time until
things come back to normal?

I uninstalled KB941693 and KB947864 and now IE and FF are working.
So if anyone else experiences this, watch for these 2 updates as I suspect
they are interfering with the function of IE and FF. Can any of the MVP's
confirm this?

I'm no MVP, but I did install all the updates (using a non-SP1 version of
Vista Home Premium) successfully with full functionality of IE7 and FF.
