Anyone Know of a web site that I can download a copy of IE7 RC1 to try.I
can't use Microsoft because I won't install WGA.

Unless you are using a "genuine" licensed version of Windows XP,
you are not entitled to any version of IE7. Only users of a legally
licensed version of Windows XP can enjoy this benefit.

In order to resolve your non-genuine licensing issue,
please visit: www.microsoft.com/genuine and click on
"Validate Windows". When validation fails, you'll see a
button to click on which will provide information on how
to acquire a WGA Kit.

Internet Explorer 7 is a benefit? Sounds more like a hinderance.
Firefox or Opera are superior products.

Just because someone refuses to install the WGA spyware, it doesn't
necessarily follow that they are using "non-genuine" software. It may
only mean that they user doesn't want that useless crap on their
computer. Why do you ASSume that everyone that doesn't jump through the
WGA hoops is a thief?

I have all the WGA crap on my computer now but soon I will be
reinstalling XP on a new, larger hard drive and you can bet your booties
I won't be installing the WGA crap again. I have no use for the so
called groovy software that WGA allows you to install like Defenseless
and IE7.

Funny thing, it turns out that the music industry has discovered that
all the millions they have spent and all the 12 year olds and 79 year
olds that they have terrified has not increased music sales one iota. In
fact, sales are down. People who want to use cracked XP software can
and will. It usually takes ONE DAY for the crack to come out after MS
releases yet another WGA spy program.

If MS wants to curtail piracy, offer Vista Home at 39.95 and Vista Pro
at 49.95 and watch piracy practically disappear without having to pay
people to sit at phone banks for WPA and, get this, without
inconveniencing paying customers (of all things).

A friend of mine tried some "alternatives" to IE.

His cat developed warts and itched to death.

I didn't want to start anything as I really only use IE for updates,I
just wanted to try it to see what it was like as compared to firefox.I
would be afraid to do banking etc with anything but a Linux OS.WGA is
just another reason that I have a legal version of XP setting in the box
on the shelf which I purchased in 2001.I also dual boot another legal
version of XP along side of Ubuntu as XP will do a couple of things that
the linux won't do as easy.I guess I will have to reinstall XP with sp1
and not do any updates and not connect to the internet with it.

I don't have WGA installed.

You don't need WGA installed to download from MS, Use the GenuineCheck
to generate a number, Paste it where it ask.

I've been using the GenuineCheck for a long while as I also don't
allow ActiveX to run.

I found a copy on the internet downloaded and burned to CD.When
installing it asked for validation I clicked it and it did whatever it
did but the install continued and WGA was not installed on My
computer.Maybe it did check to see if My copy was legal and I have no
problem with that because all I use is legal software, the only problem I
have is when spyware is put on My computer, and I a legal customer is
made to feel like a thief.
By the way the browser is not a knockout and I will continue to use
Firefox as I like it better.
Everyone have a good day.

If you downloaded IE7 RC1 from a source other than Microsoft, you /are/ a thief, and a very foolish one at that.
