Well basically its that simple.
I have lost the prompt that should appear when ie7 is closed. You know the
prompt, the one that asks if you wish to reopen the current tabs next time
ie7 is accessed.
I have looked inthe menus and control panel etc but have beenunable to find
the appropriate remedy to bring this promt back.

Any help greatly appreciated

First off, if you haven't done so already, you might want to post your question
to the IE7 newsgroup.

That said, when you close IE7, a dialog should pop up asking if you want to
close all tabs. In this dialog, click on Show options. You can now check "Open
these the next time I use Internet Explorer". If the dialog does not appear, go
to Internet Options and click on the Settings button in the Tabs section on the
General page. In Tabbed Browser Settings, check "Warn me when closing multiple
tabs".

Good luck

Tools | Internet Options
Click Settings in the Tabs section.
Check the box to warn if closing a window with multiple tabs.
