IE 6 WONT SHUT DOWN

So.... all of a sudden IE6 won't shut down without
opening Task Manager and doing it that way.

Went so far as to go into Registry, make it IE =No & re-
installed. Same thing, no change. Still won't close
without task manager.

Unless this is some sort of malicious virus specifically
about IE6, I am at a loss as to what it is. I am running
Norton Anti-Virus updated all the time. I run SpyBot &
AdAware regularly.

All this stuff about spybot & Ad aware is ok to a point
but doesn't seem germaine to this discussion.

NEED HELP

BTW... switched to Mozilla which is fine, but, of course,
won't work on Microsoft Gaming Zone..... Imagine that!

I am having the exact same problem, which makes me kind
of worried that it is a virus. I have an HP Pavilion
169n, do you have a similar model. It could be a model
error (somehow?). I also run Norton Anti-virus and it has
found nothing. If anyone can help with this problem,
which appears might be common, help would be greatly
appreciated.

Do you update Ad-Aware and Spybot S & D before scanning with them?

Go to: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
Download "Hijack This!" [freeware]

Unzip, double-click "HijackThis.exe" and Press "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log"
button.
Click: "Save Log" (generates: "hijackthis.log")

Next, go to the below location:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/forums/

Sign in, go to the "Spyware and Hijackware Removal" section.
Press "New Topic", copy and paste hijackthis.log into your new message.
