There have been a couple of times when I or my son have
found themselves loading a porn site on our computers. We
both got out of them.
We both run Win 98 with IE 6 - 128 bit encryption.
He has a desktop, I have a laptop. Both computers are
like-configured with Norton Systemworks 2002 running in
the background. I have my son's computer set to High
Internet Security, mine set to Medium.
However, his is the one that will show porn advertisements
in place of the legitimate advertisements on the IE 6
sites. It's not just relegated to MSN - our home page of
choice, but to any pages that he views. This has nothing
to do with popups - the porn ads take the place of
legitimate ads.
I have run both Norton offline and online virus scans on
both computers and neither computers report viruses. All
virus definitions are up-to-date.
Anybody have an idea what may be causing this and how to
stop this?
Thanks,
Joe
