IE 6 Internet Option Home Page Cannot Be Changed

I am getting no where on this.

Since XP SP2 installtion, the IE 6 Internet Option Home Page cannot be
changed from www.msn.com .
The 3 buttons do change the Home Page URL, but after OK, if you go back and
look at it, the home page is back to www.msn.com .
I have run virus and adware type software, everything is clean.

Since I don't use msn, this is annoying. Any ideas?

I use Norton antivirus and Ad-Aware/Ad-Watch SE Plus from -
www.lavasoftusa.com. They both show no problems.

Is there any point in running all the variations of the software you list
below? I thought the software I was using is rated the best.

What's "rated best" may not do the job for you. I've worked on a
computer that was seriously infected with viruses and yet NO antivirus
software could find them. I spent days isolating the suspect files and
tried to email them to my own computer so I could spend more time
evaluating them. When I went to my own machine I found that my ISP had
cleaned the files out of the Zip archive because they contained a virus.
It's over a week now since I isolated these files and still none of the
mainstream AV programs spot the files as viruses. When you have an
elusive problem it's best to try anything you can.

I'd say that you've got a hijacker controlling your home page but I
doubt that any sort of malware would give you MSN. Keep looking,
something is wrong.
