IE 6 - Graphics in Address Bar of New Window

H

Harry

Just recently I've started to have a problem when I
follow a hyperlink that opens a new window. The address
bar of the new window has a sliver of the graphics from
the sending page and I can't delete or type over it. The
drop down box for the address bar still works, I can
select another page from my history there, but it doesn't
replace the graphics in the address bar and I still can't
type in there.

This only happens in the new window that pops up, never
in a new instance of IE that I open fresh.

I can't pinpoint when this problem began, any ideas on a
solution?

Thanks in advance,

Harry

Harry,
I'm guessing, but.. this sounds enough like the "blank/transparent" new
window problem, that I would try working through these pages:

Also, less likely, but have you checked for malware recently?
Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm Also note the security tips on that
page.

Hope this helps,
