Disabling Active Scripting disables Browser Helper Objects meaning
no support for Google toolbar or other such practical implementations.

I run Spybot and Adaware often noting that Spybot says right out
that DSO is actually removed but the false report will not be present
in the next release of Spybot.

Not for me it doesn't. I never use Active Scripting and the Google Toolbar
works just fine (as does everything else). I know nothing (positive) about
the "page rank" feature of Google Toolbar, whether *it* would function, and
don't want any Spyware of that kind in operation on my PC anyway.

files\google\googletoolbar1.dll

Other menu context items also work without any such interference.
PowerTweaks for IE5, Acronym finder, half a dozen buttons and ancillary
add-ons, to numerous to mention.

What disabling Active Scripting does for me is 99.5% good; NO pop-ups, NO
drive-by installs; NO explorer bar changes.
OK, for unknown sites which use Java links, menus, etc. I must re-enable
(when I find they can be "trusted" to NOT be malicious. Not necessarily
trusted though.) and that may seem a hassle to some. Not really too terrible
for me considering the possible consequences.

Perhaps a re-assessment (not for me) might be in order?

The best Tweak and your ally for IE = **Disable Active Scripting**
