IE 6 Cumulative patch and floppy drive

I helped other people how had problems with their floppy drive after Appling
a patch (Windows Update and Auto update). Now it is my turn! I applied the
IE 6 cumulative patch in Auto Updates and now my floppy hangs my system. I
removed it from device manager and rebooted. But it still hangs.

What next????

Doing more investigations, I found the following article, which described my
problem to the "tee":

I followed it and the floppy is working again. As for the software "links"
that may need this update, I have not encountered any problems without the
update installed.
