IE 6 Certain Pages Won't Open

I can browse the Internet via IE on my DSL service but
when I need to log on to certain sites (bank, home page
pesonal set up), I receive an error message that
says "Page Cannot Be Displayed". Any ideas???
 
Look for a file named HOSTS with no extension (not Hosts.sam). If you find
it rename it to HOSTS.OLD
