IE 6.0

Is there a way to do a full download of IE 6.0, along with the setup files,
and save it to my hard drive without installing it on my computer? I always
have IE 6.0 on my computer. I would like to download the full program of IE
and burn it to a disk in case I ever need it in the future. I know that this
could be done with IE 5.0 and 5.5 but I am not sure about IE 6.0. Thanks.

Windows version of the machine on which you want to install IE6 is...?

Downloading Internet Explorer for a Different Operating System (other than
WinXP)
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=174680

Order IE6 SP1 on CD
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ordercd/ie6sp1.asp

Order WinXP SP1a on CD (for WinXP only, includes IE6-SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/WindowsXP/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/ordercd.asp

Order WinXP SP2 on CD (for WinXP or WinXP SP1, includes IE6-SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx

No matter how you install IE6 on the machine, followup by checking in at
Windows Update to install the latest Cumulative Security Update for IE (and
more).

Oops!! The information you gave relative to the download of IE 6.0 is the
information I need. I looked and looked but I could not find this information
anywhere. Now I can download it and save it to my hard drive without it
trying to install on my computer. Thank you so much. My OS is windows XP,
SP2. My thanks to Pa bear for his information as well.

Neither of Zee's links will help or work in WinXP.

To reinstall IE6 on a machine updated to WinXP SP2, reinstall SP2.

To reinstall IE6 on a machine that came with WinXP SP2 pre-installed,
reinstall Windows.
