IE 6.0/ Other programs thinks, I have an earlier version of IE

IE works fine most of the time for me, but for some reason macromedia and
yahoo programs both think I have a previous version running.
Example 1): When I go to marcomedia website to download new objects.
Macromedia informs me that my browser isn't up to date and to download the
updates. I've download mircosofts updates and mostly get this statement "you
have a newer version, update canceled". I still unable to download from
macromedia.
Example 2): Yahoo on occassion will ask me to update my browser.
Unrelated problem that does occur or maybe involed some how, is if I go to
drive C and try to delete a file. IE will shutdown and start over.
Any help would be great. As I said at the top, downloading updates doesn't
work, since a)doesn't install or b)states I have a newer version already.
Thanks

Hi Btrip :)

Try uninstalling both the Yahoo and Macromedia from the Add/Remove programs,
and any Registry file. Then visit the sites again and when download them
from the reference sites when you get the message to install them. This has
worked for many.

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps
