IE 5 History folders in Registry

I'm running IE 6 onver XP Pro SP1.I was working on
whacking some spyware entries in the registry when I came
across beaucoup folders under IE5 History. Each folder
(entry?) was an URL. Is it okay to whack these puppies?
Most were from popups and other crap for casinos, porn,
and who knows what.
 
Well, I read the article. And they is all still there.
Fascinating, wot?
 
If you read that section, you'd have seen instructions for deleting your
History *folder* (assuming it's damaged). Did you do so?
