Anyone know anything about basic wiring of things like LEDs? I don't mean ready-wired, but how to attach resistors to LEDs so that they work of 5v instead of 12V ...etc....u know...and how to wire up toggle switches to replace existing power or fan controllers?

Any directions gratefully received!!;)

Well hello :D :thumb:

There is a good LED resistor calculator here:

http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz

The source voltage is 12V or 5V depending on if you use the red or yellow wire for + from the molex connectors. The forward voltage is best read from the LED specs, but it is safe to assume 3V here. As for the current, 20mA is taken as the norm very often.

So, for most cases you'll need a 470 ohm resistor with a 12V power supply :)

For toggle switches, you can simply splice the switch into either the red or black cable on the fan you wish to control. If the toggle switch has 3 pins, simply direct one wire to the centre pin and the other wire to either of the others.

There's a good guide on this here too:

I hope that helps :)
