Identity problemo

Outlook does not work under a non-admin acct.

It says no current identity.

When I create one it then says"Current identity could not be changed
because one of the
applications was unable to switch."

Thanks.

I did what it said.

It got rid of that key, but I still can't run Outlook Express from a
non-admin acct.
(Same message as previous post)

This time I didn't create a new identity. :)

Has OE ever working in this non-admin. User Profile?

Is MS Outlook also installed?

In Step #3 of http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/faqs/how.htm#delnopass, how
many GUIDs/Usernames did you find? Are there any there now?

Are you running WinXP SP2 or WinXP SP3? Is the machine fully patched at
Windows Update?

Open OE | Click on Help | About | Look in the Files section and tell me what
versions of DIRECTDB.DLL and INETCOMM.DLL are displayed here (e.g.,
v6.00.2900.5512)?

The user ID is what it should be.

Ideally, as per MS help files, I would like to run a non-admin acct.
to protect me better while surfing and reading my email. I have the
acct. surfing OK, just need the mail reading fixed.

Take care.

No, that's the OE version displayed in Help | About. Look below in the
window listing a number of files.

PS: I asked several other questions.

PPS: Please stick with top-posting your replies.

The version I posted was the one in the window.

I have SP2 and have applied all security patches.

Would it help if I deleted OE, and re-installed it ?

Thanks.
