Identifying and Replacing Deleted Files

I had a virus in one or two of my Windows XP files. My
anti-virus software could not repair the files and I
ended up deleting them by mistake. I don't have the
names of the files. Is there a way to have my Windows
files scanned to identify and replace the lost files?

Are they still in the recycle bin? If not, you may try putting the XP CD in
*while booted up*, close it out when it opens, and go to Start>Run> type sfc
/scannow (With a space between the "c" & " / " ).
