Hi,

Had an interesting event happen to my computer. While at work, the home
computer rebooted but came up the NTLD missing. When I did a cold reboot,
everything came back up with no problem. Did hard drive diagnostic with
both the manufacture software and Nortons, came up with no problems. Is
there something I can use to test the IDE controller on the mother board?
The system is virus free and spyware free (running Spybot, Pestpatrol,
spyblaster, spyguared, NAV2004, plus weekly online scans), have both
software and hardware firewalls. System is P3 1Ghz, 1.325 GB ram. All
drivers are up to date, running SP2.

Hi Kelly,

Yes, trying to remember from memory, plus its always hard to remember all
those file names that windows uses. Its just strange, doing a cold boot no
problem and been working fine since, untill the next time it reboots itself,
will have to see what happens then.

PS. no more Hurricanes for you? Just went through a Typhoon here and
supposely another will come to hit us

oh another fact. Its not really missing or damage. After doing the cold
boot, it starts up like nothing ever happened. Just wondering if there is a
problem with the IDE controller, the HDD hasn`t been giving me any problems
at all, not in the 4 years of using it. It stays cool, as does the whole
computer.

Great, glad to hear it. :o) We are settled here, for the time being,
thanks for asking. And wow on the pictures you sent. Hope you keep well
through this and for the future.
