I have only seen this in Windows XP.
I work for an Internet company as tech support. We have
come across this error before. Prior to this we could
either move the modem to a new PCI slot, or change to a
modem with a different chip set, and it would correct the
problem. But it doesn't always work (as I'm coming to find
out).
The error is in Internet Connection Wizard. After entering
all other information it ask for a connection name. It is
at this point it doesn't matter what is put in as the
name; it gives the error: "name" is not a valid name.
The entry name must contain a least one character that is
not a space and cannot begin with a period. Choose a
different name.
Where "name" is what ever you type for the connection name.
If any one has seen an article on this or has any
information please e-mail me.
