ICS on 98se & XP

I have 3 computers networked through a hub and the network works fine. 1
computer runs Windows XP and the other 2 run Windows 98 SE. One of the
computers that run Windows 98 SE, I want to use as a gateway to connect to the
internet. This is what I did.

I installed Win98 Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on the gateway. ICS
Creates a floppy that you install on the other computers on the network. The
floppy will not run on the XP based system, so I just tried to use Network
Setup that comes with WinXP, selecting "Connect to internet through another
computer on the network". The 2 WIN98 computers connects to the internet, but
the XP computer doesn't.

I then created a floppy with XPs "NETSETUP" and installed that on the 2 WIN98
computers, the network still worked, but for "NETSETUP" to detect the
connection to the internet, the WIN98 computer must be connected. "NETSETUP"
requires a system reboot and then automatically runs the setup program. SO I
can not connect to the internet until AFTER "NETSETUP" installs. The results
are only the gateway system can connect.

What can I do to get this network and internet working the way I want it to?

try using the XP box as gateway. I have basicly the same setup -XP is
gateway with a 98se and a ME connected with a hub.On the 98 machine I have
static address
192.168.0.7 subnet 255.255.255.0 gateway 192.168.0.1 enable dns host
<name> search order 192.168.0.1 and the same thing on the ME machine
and network logon for 98 and ME
XP's NAT is a little better than 98's
