Hi All

I'm having a strange problem on my Windows XP Professional Client, I have
currently got Internet Connection Sharing on my ADSL connection and on my
LAN it has automatically changed the IP to 192.168.0.1 like it should. But
for some reason other clients on the same LAN don't pick up an IP address
from the DHCP server which is normally installed on the PC with the ICS
installed on it? If I give the clients static IP addresses and DNS of
192.168.0.1 I can browse the web from the clients so it's definitely a
problem with the main computer not advertising DHCP. I can't think of a way
to troubleshoot this as it isn't manageable like in the server edition. I've
tried the usual of rebooting the clients and IPCONFIG /RENEW to no avail.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

TIA, Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Are the clients getting an APIPA address or something else? If they are NOT
getting an address from the ICS host there may be another DHCP server
running.

Thanks,
