I have a Dell .. 2.4 Intel Pentium 4 processor... WinXP Pro ...

Everything is working fine except for a long delay after I boot up when the
processor is really busy for at least 45 to 90 seconds. The activity light
on
the tower is blinking like crazy..

I use Net Medic to isolate problems that might occur when online due to
my ISP, the Internet or the URL I'm accessing being offline or having
problems.. It takes a lot of guesswork out of wondering why computer
has slowed down..

Net Medic also shows me the amount of data being transferred and shortly
after my computer is online, I see a lot of data being transferred and the
sending server is www.iconsplus.com ..

During the time this is going on, everything on my computer slows down
and it is hard to access Outlook Express or use Internet Explorer to access
a website..

When the transfer or whatever is happening stops, everything returns to
normal and my computer is fast again..

I've tried to find out if Iconsplus is Spyware, Adware or a Stealth program
but can't find any information on that company other than it supplies many
different types of icons.. I've never had anything to do with them in the
past.

My computer is really, really slow when it shuts down but that is another
story and one I think Microsoft may have caused with SP1...

Any suggestions on where to look or what to do to correct this problem?

Since you don't seem to need this benign yet annoying program, uninstalling
it may be the way to go.
