Does anyone know where I can find some professional looking icons that are
the standard windows collection for developers? The ones that came on the
VS cd are pretty lame. Thanks

I've seen all those iCandy Icons I'm looking for standard windows icons like
those in VS.net, word, etc... Thanks

I have a very nice icon extractor that can extract embedded icons. It lets
you view the icon before saving and also resize if necessary. You can select
icons from an individual file or from all files in a directory including
subdirectories. I patched it together from help with people on this
newsgroup. If you want the assembly.dll for it, let me know. You should be
able to get icons from the Vs.Net, excel, etc. files.

I found one of those but I couldn't seem to get icons like copy, save, print
etc.. only the icons that associated with the exe like the program icons.
Is there a secret to getting the embedded one that I need using this
extractor?

Thanks,

Barclay

Barclay,

If you are talking about the icons inside Excel, Word, etc. they are called
FaceIds. You can find various FaceId viewers by Googling. You can copy and
paste them when you are in Tools --> Customize in those programs.
