I have mutiple user profiles runing on my XP Pro and in
some profiles I double click the icon and the program
starts as they should. BUT in the other profiles they do
not start unless I right click the mouse and
choose "open" OR launch it from my MS office K/B.

Should be a simple fix, but I am not sure where the
problem is?

Any ideas?

Create a new shortcut pointing to any installed program. Test it to see if
it works. If it works, your old shortcuts may damaged and should be
replaced. If it doesn't work, your registry information about the *.LNK
file type is damaged.

Doug Knox (MVP) has a file you can download and run that will fix that for
you. Read the directions on this page:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm

Then scroll down the page to the download link for "LNK (shortcuts) File
Association Fix"
