I cannot open an Icon from my desktop, nor from my start menu except for a
select few like windows messenger, and the "RUN" Icon. When I try to open it,
you can hear the cpu doing something, everything freezes, then all the icons
disappear from the desktop they finally come back, it unfreezes and then you
can continue on as if nothing happened yet it did not open what you wanted. I
cannot even open my documents or my pictures. Then many web pages will not
open and if they do open it shorlty says that internet explores has
encountered a problem and needs to close.
What could be going on?

Grayson, I too have the same problem. When I log on to WINXP - after a
moment, I can't click on ANYTHING. It was weird, and very frustrating. So,
after lots of empty research, I reinstalled windows with a QUICK format NTFS
install. So now, I get about 4 seconds of clickability, then it locks up.
So, I have discovered to use my WINDOWS key on my keyboard and the L key, and
I LOG OUT and log back into the same account, and it works fine, almost.
Still can't drag anything on the desktop to anywhere. I can't drag a
shortcut from IE. Weird, huh? And yes, I did ALL the updates, and still no
difference. There's no info on this anywhere problem on the net either. I
ran antivirus, and spybot. I don't think there's anything else for a clue.
Sounds like something weird, huh? So, if anyone out there can say what's
going on, I'd really appreciate it, ans so would Grayson too. Thanx, Drix
