icons on desktop

I am running W2k SP4 on my machine. I have several
folders on my desktop mostly arranged on the right hand
side of the desktop. Everytime I save a new file or
modify an existing one in one of those folders, it re-
arranges my icon for that folder to the left side of the
desktop! It's driving me crazy. Does anyone know how to
stop this??!

move your pointer to
Arrange Icons

ensure Auto Arrange is unticked

Thought of that already. No good. Anyone else got an
idea?
