Icons Near The Clock

ok i just installed windows xp sp1 and i was doing fine then my friend gave
me a update disk that he got and now i am running sp2. now my icons near the
clock wont show up all the time its odd like i will restart or shut down and
restart and only some of my icons will show up if any one could help he that
would be GREAT
 
Right click a vacant area of the Taskbar, select Properties. On the Taskbar
tab, at the bottom is a checkbox to "Hide inactive icons"......is that
checked??
Heirloom, old and don't hide anything
 
I got this also. It seems that they "might" have been a Windows update that
turned on the "UPnP Client" in the Widows set up. I was able to get my
icons when I turned it off.

Start --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Program ----> Add/Remove Windows
Components --> Network Services

and un-check UPnP User Interface.
