Icons move after switching users on Windows XP

I have noticed after switching users the icons located along the bottom of
the desktop revert further up (about 1 inch) from the bottom. It is
repeatable everytime the users are switched. Any ideas?

I right clicked my desktop, choose properties, then themes, and I
created a profile for my desktop. This worked for my problem, similar
to yours.

Breck,

I gave your idea a try, but no success the icons along the bottom still move
up after each switch of user.

My icons did that too until I unckecked align to grid. I right click
my desktop and choose arrange icons by, then show desktop icons is the
only thing I have checked. I can try to upload a small utility that
might help you place your icons were you want. It is called WinTidy by
PC Magazine. I am sorry I can't help you more. Maybe someone else can.
