Is there any way to reduce the size of the icons in the Quick Launch area
of the taskbar without affecting the size of other icons?

First you need to unlock the taskbar if it is locked (right click the
taskbar and uncheck "Lock Taskbar" if it is checked. Carefully move the
cursor to just to the right of the right icon in the Quick Launch bar.
Right click. A dialog box should come up with View in it click on this to
reduce or increase the size of the Quick Launch icons.

Thanks for the tip. The two choices on that View menu for icon size are
large and small. I am already set to small. Is there any way to make
them even smaller?

Why would you want to make your QuickLaunch icons smaller? They are already
almost too small to be seen comfortably.

If you want to make space for more icons, make the Taskbar larger, giving
you more room for icons.
