I have just reinstalled my XP OS from OEM Recovery Disc after a brief but
happy interlude with Vista RC1. OneNote 2003 is included in the Recovery
Disc. Office 2000 was reinstalled from Retail Discs.
After installing the Office and OneNote updates from the Office Update
website, I noticed that the Add/Remove Programs window was showing the
OneNote Icon (mauve curly "N") next to Office and all its updates, and
showing the Office Icon [square jigsaw style) next to OneNote and all its
updates.
The icons are properly assigned in the Start Menu and elsewhere, and the
functionality of Add/Remove Programs in relation to these programs seems to
work (although I have not gone all the way to uninstalling anything). I have
tried the repair feature of both programs, but the icons are still amiss.
Is there a way to fix this strange quirk?
