Icons frustrated

Can anyone tell me how to get rid of the boxes the text is in under the
icons on the desktop, I've done it before but for the life of me I can't
remember where to go or what to tick.

Hey... I just had the same problem & posted it this message board about 1/2 hour before you did..."Desktop Fonts" just in case you didn't get a response... I got several & 1 worked from Rose W.... so... I'm passing it along... hope it works for you too!
