Icons don't display

Hello Everybody,
I have WinXP SP2.
Since yesterday, for some unknown reason, some of the icons do not display
at all and instead of some other icons, only a couple or more coloured dots
appear. Tweak UI also doesn't seam to work.
I have searched MS website but in vain.

Can somebody figure out the problem and know any remedy?

Icons where? Remember, we can't see your computer from here.

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time things
worked and the time they didn't?

If you don't know what changed, try a System Restore to when things worked
well.

Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore
"Restore my computer to an earlier time"

Icons are getting messed up in almost all kinds of folders. Some graphic
elements of some softwares are also getting replaced by multi-colored dots.

1. Try the System Restore.
2. If that doesn't work, reinstall the video card drivers.
3. If that doesn't work, possibly the video card is failing.

I reinstalled the video card drivers which repaired most of the icons and
graphic elements. Rest of them were repaired by Tweak UI. Thanks for your
guidance. I appreciate it.

By the way, I never received any GoodPost links before, although, I have
been active at many lists and newsgroups. I guess I am being too lazy to
prepare a well-informed question. I have personally felt it. I appreciate
pointing out that for me.
