The briefcase icon in My Documents has been replaced by a
File Synchronization folder thingy,Its also gone from the
Shell32.dll. How would I be able to get it reinstalled

Peter,

It's not the briefcase icon. To reset the defaults icon for My Documents,
type this command from Start/Run dialog:

rundll32 mydocs.dll,PerUserInit

The previous command fixes the My Pictures, My Music icons only. Here is the
registry edit for My Documents icon.

Open Registry Editor and navigate to:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CLSID\{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}\DefaultIcon

In the right-pane, double-click (default) and set it's value to
%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-235

Or, simply via the User interface.

R-click Desktop, Properties, Desktop tab, Customize Desktop
Click My Documents and 'Restore Default'
Click OK, OK

That sets the icon to %WinDir%\system32\mydocs.dll,0
